I often use Europocar and normally have good value and service . Probably like everyone they are suffering staff shortages as the pick up was not the best I ever had and the vehicle was not properly cleaned . The seats were dirty and overall the car smelt

Hidden fees, scammy company, AVOID
Hidden fees that only got revealed when we got there, the fees were higher than the original rental price!!! The employee behind the desk didn't even tell us what these fees are, I had to proactively ask... Scammy company. AVOID!!!

Online booking cost us $1,300 pounds…
Online booking cost us $1,300 pounds back in nov 2021. When we got to the car dealership in July 2022, we had to pay $4,000 + more pounds in order to get a car that fit our luggage needs. I know prices went up since Nov but we were under the impression that the luxury suv we reserved in nov would be fine. We were told it wasn’t when we arrived.

They were not flexible
They were not flexible, they didn't let me pay for the most basic insurance so I had to pay a lot of money. I rented from Hertz for 2 months and never had any problems, they always tried to help me, I will never rent from Europcar again and I will never recommend them.

Europcar = ??? never, ever again
Worst company i ever met. Didn't send invoise, changed more than 300€ whit no reason, whit out any proof. Not respond too email.

If I had the option I wouldn't use…
If I had the option I wouldn't use them, wanted to ammend something on my rental policy and had to phone so many different numbers, once got to the right customer services was told that I had to wait until the afternoon to get the answer to my question has the person who knows is not in until then ridiculous , shouldn't all staff have knowledge of this policy answer. Reasons for car rental is part of my cover with the RAC my car is in the garage. I would never use this service again

Terrible service
Terrible service. Booked a vehicle and paid for it only to be told it was not available. Called customer services to report a fault but no reply til now.
I expect an apology and questions answered.

Wrong car with more money
Initially we made a booking for a car that was available in their website. But, after we made the booking, they called us saying that the car was not available so we had to order another one that didn’t suit our preferences 100%. Today, we came to take the preordered car but it wasn’t here so they suggested to give us another car for 50£ per day EXTRA. We called the main offices of EUROPCAR but they couldn’t help the situation.
At the end of the day, we got a car not preferred by us, at 350£ extra (for 7 days)
Never again…..

Online booking of hire car was easy
Online booking of hire car was easy. Booked a car to arrive at our Campsite between 9-10am.... It turned up at 10.20am after the Truro branch told us it would be with us early at 8.50am...i was not shown any of the controls of the car because the girl seemed in a rush. Thank god for you tube videos!
We arranged for the car to be picked up between 10-11am as we had to be off site at 11am.. No one showed. Apparently they have 8 hours to collect the car and that wasn't explained to me. Called head office who couldn't understand what I was saying... Ended up leaving the keys with reception... Found out car was picked up at 1.30pm... Will never use this company again.
